If you’re buying a property in St John’s Wood,Little Venice or Regent’s Park, you need to pay the correct Stamp Duty. Stamp Duty is a tax paid on residential properties costing more than £250,000. The current stamp duty rates are 0% on property between £0 and £250,000, 5% on property between £250,001 and £925,000, 10% on property between £925,001 and £1.5m, and 12% on property above £1.5m.
If you’re buying an additional home to your main UK residence, then you may also be due to pay an additional 3% rate of stamp duty on property.
